Social Service Ministry
Inspired by Christ’s mission “to proclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the oppressed, and sight for the blind” (Luke 4:18-19), the Church’s social mission is fulfilled through its members. The Social Service Ministry of the parish exists to coordinate initiatives that promote the holistic and balanced growth of the parish community, especially through value-based, inclusive social development.
Rooted in the teachings of Christ (cf. Matthew 25:35-40), this ministry attends to the hungry, the poor, migrants, and the marginalized, affirming that faith without service is incomplete. Its foundation is the Basic Christian Communities (BCCs), which must go beyond prayer to address local social concerns and propose collective solutions.
Vision: To build a just, loving, truthful, and peaceful society.
Mission: To empower marginalized groups for sustainable, participatory development.
Key Focus Groups:
- Daily-wage laborers
- Women and children
- Migrant workers
- Other disadvantaged communities
These efforts are carried out through six commissions under which various welfare and empowerment programs are organized to improve livelihood, education, and healthcare opportunities for the targeted groups.
